Finding your Calling – Steps to a more Positive Life

If you arrived at this website because you’re unhappy with the way your life is currently panning out, but you actually have no idea what your dreams are, your first step is in finding your calling.

I want you to REALLY consider your passions in life – what activities/hobbies really have the power to lift your mood instantly?  For me, they’re; singing, travelling, learning new skills or talking to my best friends.  If I’m feeling rubbish, and there’s nothing else accessible to me, my first port of call, to help me feel better, is to have a moan to my best friend (who almost always knows how to make light of whatever I’m stressing about!!) or to just start singing – this never fails to lift my spirits!

Still struggling to think of things that just instantly increase your mood?  In that case, we need to go a little deeper… look back to your childhood… think of all the things you used to love doing as a child and start doing them again – even just to test if you still enjoy it!!  It could be writing, reading, drawing, dancing, even something as simple as cuddling your pet dog… find a way to fit these things into your life again and find out if you still enjoy them the way you used to.  I just ask that, as a first step, you really make an effort to create the time and space in your life for these things again.

Everyone has a unique talent within them – the majority of the population, however, have lost their connection with that.  Get back to yours through finding your calling.

So, tell me – what are your passions in life?? Please leave a comment below to tell me what has the ability to lift your mood instantly!

  1. Kayaking, although I have to be perfectly honest. I have to admit it has to be the fact that at this point in my life, my passion is recieving replies to my posts online, simply because I have no life otherwise. I have forgotten all of my dreams, if I ever really had any. Passions I have been broken of.

    • Thank you for your response Aaron… maybe you could try taking a few hours out of your work schedule, one day per week, to try and incorporate kayaking back into your life? I think it’s great that you’ve found a new passion in your online posts too… but always healthier to have something else in your life that keeps you happy =) Keep the goal in plain sight!!

  2. Fishing is my thing, have been fishing most of my life, I now also sell tackle as well as fish for trout and salmon when I can on my time off.

    • Mark!! This is awesome!! I see you’ve already found a way to incorporate your passions with your work!! =) I hope the business is going well for you!!

  5. Aw, this was a very nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to produce a very good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and don’t seem to get anything done.

    • Thank you Efren… I think this is problem with many people (myself included from time to time) – I think if we just take it one step at a time, at least we’re making some progress 🙂
